“Arianna Occhipinti has outdone herself with the 2014. The bouquet opens to ripe blueberry, raspberry and dried cassis. The nose is pristine. In the mouth, Il Frappato delivers vibrant acidity and snappy fruit flavors. More than any other wine, this vintage and this producer can claim to have produced something close to a Pinot Nero with an all-Sicilian soul. Drink 2016 – 2023.” –Wine Advocate, 93 points. Romuald Petit runs this small, 7 hectare domaine. He farms young vines he planted himself and very old vines planted over 100 years ago. The soil is an unusual red limestone that is ideal for growing Chardonnay, yielding wines of great freshness and aromatic intensity combined with lots of life and fruit. The wine is fermented in stainless steel vats. New item.

2016 Bonair Winery Chardonnay Yakima Valley $13.99/$10.29/$9.26

This small production Chardonnay (less than 1000 cases) comes from the Château Puryear Vineyard (Rattlesnake Hills) and the FaireAcre Vineyard (Prosser Flats). A soft, lightly buttery, very approachable wine. Nice light tropical fruit flavors are a blend of mango, pineapple and banana. There is nothing heavy-handed about the oak; it’s nicely layered into the background. The is the best to date Chard from Bonair! New vintage.
