2016 'Riff' Pinot Grigio by Alois Lageder delle Venezie $13.99/$9.39/$8.45

The vineyard sources for most of this Pinot Grigio contain a substantial amount of dolomite limestone which has an obvious impact on the wine's character and style. It is because of the contribution that these fossils (limestone) make to the wine's character that they have been chosen to be incorporated into the label design as a reminder of its geological origin.

Riesling from Mosel has a very distinct acidity and it was the same with this as well. Very refreshing wine with a lovely fruit and balance. The acidity provides energy and life to the wine which makes it really delicious to drink. Have this Riesling as an aperitif or with a Dungeness crab salad with a special starter with lots of cream. 2016 Château de Montfaucon ‘Les Gardettes’ Rosé Rhône $16.99/$11.19/$10.07

This blend of Cinsault, Counoise and Grenache is a true rosé de saignée (French for ‘bleed’) where some of the wine is removed from the vat leaving a smaller amount of wine left to bleed with the skins which intensifies color, tannins and concentration. Les Gardettes is full of strawberry, peach and other stone fruit flavors supported by good acidity and freshness. New item.
